Domaine Larue, Saint Aubin
Background
In 1985 Didier (pictured) and his brother Denis formed a family farming company to exploit the vineyards they had inherited. When Loeb first found Didier he was operating out of the garage under his brother's house - consequently only managing to age and bottle approximately a third of his total grape production.
Today, eldest brother Denis looks after the vines, Didier the wines and now Denis's son Bruno is working alongside his father and uncle.
The family's principles are stated as 'Authenticity and fidelity to the great terroirs of Burgundy'
Size:15ha between St Aubin (where the family home lies), Chassagne Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet.
Viticultural and vinification methods
All grapes are hand picked, and gently pressed in a pneumatic press. The whites are run off into barrels (of which a quarter are new) reaching maturation after 10 to 12 months with occasional stirring.
